The Japanese used to be leaders in economic espionage against the Federal Republic. China is now probably the main risk factor. Especially in industrial espionage, i.e. technology theft. The Chinese are extremely subtle. And they have staying power. They are not as brutal and direct as the Russian intelligence services with their cyberattacks.
