Eric Ciotti asks Emmanuel Macron to organize a referendum on immigration

It’s back to school and ideas are flowing. The president of LR Éric Ciotti announced during a meeting that he will ask Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday for a referendum on immigration, during a dinner organized by the head of state with the leaders of the parties. “We must immediately give the floor back to the people through the referendum! “, proclaimed this Sunday the number one of the Republicans for his political return to Le Cannet, in front of nearly 2,000 people, in a room where he had withdrawn due to bad weather in the Alpes-Maritimes.

In his stronghold, Éric Ciotti made his entrance to the sound of Connemara Lakes, the title of Michel Sardou recently criticized by the singer Juliette Armanet who said in particular: “It’s right, nothing is wrong”. He was accompanied by the main tenors of the Republicans, including Laurent Wauquiez, Bruno Retailleau or Rachida Dati.

A very right-wing speech

In a very right-wing speech on the sovereign and liberal on the economy, Éric Ciotti denounced in turn the current “debacle” of hospitals, schools, public finances and “the republican order”, as well as the “ ravages” of immigration. In front of his supporters, the deputy unveiled the proposals he will present to Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, who invited all the political parties to a large meeting in order to work on common bills.

He will first of all ask for a referendum on the proposed constitutional law on immigration tabled by his party in the spring. The boss of the right will also demand the strengthening of security and justice, the abolition of all “rights for illegal immigrants”, the compulsory uniform at school and college, the abolition of allowances for “parents with failed in their duties”.
