episode less intense than expected, no major damage in Drôme and Ardèche

It was a worry afterwards the violent storms which hit Nord-Drôme and Nord-Ardèche Monday. Finally, the storms this Thursday will have been less intense than expected. Orange vigilance was lifted at 10 p.m. in Ardèche and at midnight in Drôme.

Accumulations of 50 mm maximum

Météo France predicted up to 100 mm of water. Where the largest accumulations were finally noted was in Coiron, central Ardèche and the Tournon region with around fifty millimeters of water. In Drôme, the maximum is 40 mm at Mercurol near Tain-l’Hermitage. Nothing to do with the 200 millimeters that fell on Monday.

No significant intervention by firefighters

At 10 p.m., the situation was calm for the firefighters. No intervention on the Drôme side. Three operations were carried out in the evening in Ardèche in Lamastre and Belsentes for water entering houses. Firefighters had been placed on pre-alert, including swift water rescuers. They didn’t have to intervene.
