Ensemble Haar gives New Year’s Eve concert – district of Munich

At this year’s New Year’s Eve concert, Ensemble Haar presents a seductive mixture of festive baroque sounds, romance, salon music and film melodies. The venue for the performance on Saturday, December 31st, is the community center of the Isar-Amper-Klinikum in Haar.

The program includes works by Vivaldi, Brahms and Dvořák, Kreissler’s “Liebesfreud” and Piazzolla’s “Resurreccion del Angel” as well as well-known pieces by American composers of the 20th century. “Ensemble Haar would like to enchant its audience and put them in a mood where, despite all the current worries and problems, they can relax and say goodbye to the old year and look forward to the new one with hope,” explains ensemble spokesman Georg Freitag.

The soloists in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos in G minor are Isabel Schlegel from the Musikhochschule Nürnberg, who has been playing in the Haar Ensemble since she was a young girl, and Klaus Kamper, cellist of the Cherubini Quartet for 15 years, who has also been associated with the orchestra for a long time; The soloists in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins in A minor are Alexandra Simons, leader of the second violins, and Winfried Grabe, violinist and artistic director of the ensemble.

Johannes Brahms’ Liebeslieder-Waltz op.52 and Antonin Dvořák’s “Two Waltz” take the audience into the second part of the evening, which is primarily characterized by salon and film music. Fritz Kreisler’s “Liebesfreud” conjures up the old Viennese coffee house atmosphere, Astor Piazzola’s “Resurreccion del Angel” the mood of a slum in Buenos Aires, in which an angel heals the souls of the residents. The interpretation of familiar film music melodies by Leroy Anderson (“Forgotten Dreams”), Henry Mancini (“Moon River”) and Harold Arlen (“Over the Rainbow”) should also be a nice listening experience. The concert begins at 7 p.m., tickets are available at the box office from 6 p.m. and online in advance at www.ensemblehaar.de.
