Energy – Oil is flowing again through the Druzhba pipeline – Economy

The Druzhba oil pipeline in Poland, which was temporarily damaged by a leak, has been repaired and is fully operational again. This was announced by the Polish operating company Pern on Saturday. According to the company, this means that oil can be delivered to Germany again. The line operator had already announced late Wednesday evening that technicians had penetrated the leak. “According to the first findings and the way in which the pipeline is deformed, there is no evidence of an external influence at this point in time,” it said. The pipeline operator informed on Wednesday about the leak in the Druzhba pipeline, through which oil flows from Russia to Europe. The hole was therefore around 70 kilometers from the central Polish city of Plock. The Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline is one of the largest in the world, delivering Russian oil to several countries in Central Europe. It also supplies the Schwedt refinery in Brandenburg. Their pipes run partly above and partly below ground. The federal government had taken over control of the German subsidiaries of the Russian state-owned company Rosneft to secure production and supply via the Schwedt refinery PCK with fuel, heating oil and other products.
