For months, some students have lived only on toast and cheap cheese. The old romantic tale of the poor but knowledge-hungry student loses its appeal. Because of the high cost of living, the federal government promised last September a one-time payment of 200 euros for the winter, and that – be careful, a dangerous formula – “quickly and unbureaucratically”.
