End of the quarantine obligation: And Lauterbach buckles again – opinion

First the masks, now the end of the quarantine obligation: The Minister of Health is abolishing rules, but is asking people to continue to heed them. This will not work, but sends a completely wrong signal.

After everything the government has done in terms of corona management in recent weeks, the latest move seems only logical. From May 1st, the obligation to isolate infected people should fall. Anyone who has been infected with the corona virus should voluntarily stay at home for five days, but they do not have to. It is another step in the confusion of Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) of warning and easing. First the masks, then the isolation: The government is abolishing rules, but the population should please continue to heed them.
