End clap for Ariane 5, which has just made its last flight!

This time was the right one. The Ariane 5 rocket took off for the last time on July 5, 2023. On board: the Syracuse 4B and Heinrich-Hertz satellites. This is a historic launch, since the launcher will now give way to its successor Ariane 6, more modern and more efficient.

This is a page that turns in the history of space! Ariane 5 has just made its very last launch this Wednesday, July 5, before giving way to Ariane 6… And it was not without difficulty. The flight was postponed several times before finally taking place today, from the Guiana Space Center.

For his ultimate mission, Ariane 5 must put into orbit two satellites: the French Syracuse 4B and the German Heinrich-Hertz-Mission.

To celebrate the 117th Ariane 5 flight and the arrival of its little brother, the Guiana Space Center has organized a whole series of events for the general public. These free actions were set up from 5:00 p.m. on the Cocoteraie beach and at La Carapa in Kourou, on the Place des Amandiers in Cayenne.
