Employment agency – 50 billion euros for families – economy

The family fund managed by the Federal Employment Agency (BA) paid out a record sum of more than 50 billion euros last year. Spending on child benefit and child allowance for more than 16.7 million children rose by almost two billion euros to 48.9 billion euros, as the family benefits office announced on Friday. In addition, there was a one-time child bonus of 150 euros to cushion the corona pandemic. A good 2.6 billion euros were spent on this. Around 757,000 families also received a child leisure bonus of 100 euros, which should enable families with low incomes to take part in holiday and leisure activities during the pandemic. The family benefits are financed from tax money.
