While we imagined the fanciful Super League project behind us, the ruling handed down by the Court of Justice of the European Union this Thursday reshuffled the cards. In its decision, the CJEU in fact ruled in favor of the dissident Champions League competition, judged to have been harmed by UEFA’s abuse of position. However, the project proposed by the promoter A22 Sports is still not unanimous in France. This Friday, it was the 98 world champion Emmanuel Petit who stepped up to criticize the Super League, indicating that he could even go so far as to leave football. He also did not forget to tackle Madrid president Florentino Perez, one of the main instigators of this closed league.
