Emmanuel Macron, traveling to Cergy, targeted by a jet of tomatoes

The first trip of the newly re-elected President of the Republic will be to Cergy. Emmanuel Macron went this Wednesday noon to the market square of Saint-Christophe, a popular district of this city of Val-d’Oise. There he met residents, shopkeepers and young entrepreneurs from the northwest of the Parisian suburbs.

On this occasion, Emmanuel Macron was targeted by a jet of tomatoes (probably cherry), as shown by the images of BFMTV. The president was re-elected against Marine Le Pen thanks in particular to the “dam” votes of the left-wing electorate, which has already launched the “third round” with the legislative elections. In Cergy, it was Jean-Luc Mélenchon who came out on top in the first round with 47.98% of the vote.

“This trip illustrates the will of the President of the Republic since 2017 to go into the field, in contact with French men and women, to discuss with them, to listen to their concerns, their expectations and their their needs”, explained the presidency.
