Emergencies: With drill: Fire brigade rescues cat from narrow gap

The fire department in Moers freed a cat from an unfortunate situation using a drill – very carefully. The fire department said it slipped into a gap that was only about 15 centimeters wide between a garage and a house and became trapped there. Since the emergency services had no other way to get there, they ended up drilling a hole in the garage wall. It was said that they carefully worked their way bit by bit with a hammer drill up to the animal’s head.

After a vet called in administered a sedative, the cat was finally freed from its predicament. She was apparently unhurt, it was reported. The fire department was on duty with two vehicles and nine personnel for around two hours.
