Elon Musk’s latest coup: Tesla show bioweapon defense mode in video

Watch the video: Tesla tests bioweapons defense mode with smoke grenades – does the car seal?

Tesla demonstrates its “bioweapon defense mode”.

As part of a comparison test, the automaker put a Model Y in a plastic bubble.

The Tesla’s “Bioweapon Defense Mode” is activated and the vehicle’s cabin is pressurized.

A second vehicle, a BMW without a corresponding system, is also parked in the bubble.

A smoke grenade envelops the vehicles in a red mist.

The cabin of the Tesla remains smoke-free. In the comparison vehicle, on the other hand, you can see the red plumes in the interior.

After the test, the filter of the electric car is removed and shown. The device has turned red due to the smoke particles.

Even if the name “bioweapons defense mode” sounds dramatic and attracts attention – the reason for installing the filters has nothing to do with terrorism.

The HEPA filter is supposed to protect the health of the driver in areas with poor air quality.

According to the manufacturer, the device filters 99.97 percent of all particles from the air.

New vehicles of the model series Y, S and X are equipped with a HEPA filter and “bioweapon defense mode” as standard.
