Elmos wants to sell parts of the production – economy

The semiconductor manufacturer Elmos wants to sell the production of starting material for chip production (wafers) in Dortmund to the US group Littelfuse. The purchase price for the production of silicon wafers amounts to around 93 million euros, the company announced. The transaction is scheduled to take place by the end of 2024 but still needs to be approved. Among other things, the foreign trade investment control by the Federal Ministry of Economics is pending. This is why the planned sale of the wafer manufacturer Siltronic to the Taiwanese group Global Wafers failed in recent years. Elmos wants to concentrate more on research and development as well as test operation and is therefore also increasing investments.
