Electrical activity, strong gusts and hail: The orange alert is extended to eight departments

Three departments of Normandy have just been added to the five other departments according to the latest report from Météo France.

Météo France updated its weather forecast on Wednesday August 17th. From now on, 8 departments are on orange alert for thunderstorms.

The departments concerned are located on the Mediterranean arc and in Normandy. It is Hérault, Gard, Vaucluse, Var and Bouches-du-Rhône, as well as Seine Maritime, Calvados and Manche.

Hail, intense electrical activity and strong gustsfrom “103 km/h at Aigues-Mortes, 89 km/h at Arles, 98 km/h at Cap Couronne”, have been observed since this morning in certain departments on orange alert.
