Election to the European Parliament: Munich politicians almost entirely have no chance – Munich

Quickly tick off a few professional obligations in Munich in the morning, then get on the train to Strasbourg, if things go well, about a four-hour journey, and then at five in the evening a speech to the parliament in Strasbourg on solar energy. As a member of the EU, it’s sometimes like living in fast forward motion, says Green Party member Henrike Hahn. “A lot of work, a lot of traveling, very little sleep, but a big dream,” is how she describes her life between Brussels, Strasbourg and Munich. But Henrike Hahn already knows that her dream will end abruptly on June 9th. On this day, the European Parliament will be re-elected – and the only representative from Munich during this term will no longer be there.
