It’s almost like it was in the old Soviet times, when the communist governments of the brother nations sent wishes of good luck and blessings to the leadership in Moscow after 99.9 percent success in some sham elections. Only the names of the well-wishers have changed slightly. Instead of the top comrades in Warsaw or Prague, as was once the case during the Cold War, the heads of state from Caracas, Managua or Pyongyang are now dutifully reporting to celebrate Russian President Vladimir Putin for his confirmation in office.
