In Israel’s permanent political crisis, the next act follows on Tuesday: For the fifth time in three and a half years, around 6.5 million eligible voters are called to vote. The liberal interim Prime Minister Jair Lapid hopes to be able to continue the work of the government based on a heterogeneous alliance. The long-term Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was replaced last year, is aiming for a quick comeback with a right-wing religious bloc.
