Eintracht Frankfurt | Decision made by SGE star Evan Ndicka

For months there has been wild speculation about Evan Ndicka’s sporting future. It is now clear: the defender will not extend his expiring contract with Eintracht Frankfurt. With AS Roma, a top club from Serie A apparently senses its chance.

After five years together, Ndicka and Eintracht Frankfurt go their separate ways. The SGE announced this officially on Wednesday afternoon.

“We would have liked to have seen Evan at Eintracht Frankfurt in the future, so it’s a shame that he’s leaving us,” sporting director Markus Krösche said in a statement.

Recently, speculation had increased that Ndicka could extend at Eintracht Frankfurt. The Adlerträger had offered the native of Paris a new contract that would have brought him an annual salary of two and a half million euros and would have run for three years. But it doesn’t come to that.

AS Roma instead of Eintracht Frankfurt?

Now Ndicka could move to Serie A. As the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported, the French central defender was presented with a contract ready to be signed by the Italian top club AS Roma.

The 23-year-old could therefore sign for five years with this year’s Europa League finalists and play a central role in the plans of star coach José Mourinho for the Romans.

The 1.92-meter giant has been traded as a hot candidate for the Giallorossi for weeks, and there are even said to have been personal meetings between Mourinho and Ndicka advisors.

According to the report, talks between AS Roma and the player side are currently ongoing. A final decision is therefore expected in the coming days.

Eintracht Frankfurt thanks Ndicka

In the Eintracht Frankfurt jersey, Ndicka was once again an undisputed regular in the past season.

The defender was on the pitch in 44 competitive games for SBU across all competitions, scoring two goals. He played his last game for the Hessians last weekend in the DFB Cup final against RB Leipzig, which the Main city-dwellers lost 2-0.

“He has played his part in the sporting success and positive development of Eintracht Frankfurt. We wish him all the best for the future,” said Krösche.

Evan Ndicka came to Eintracht from French club AJ Auxerre in the summer of 2018.
