Economics Veronika Grimm is moving to the new TU Nuremberg – Bavaria

The economist Veronika Grimm, a member of the Federal Government’s Advisory Council, is changing university. Grimm will go to the newly founded Technical University of Nuremberg on March 1st, a spokeswoman for the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen confirmed on Monday, where Grimm has worked as a professor for many years. The Technical University of Nuremberg, founded in 2021, is still under construction. So far only seven professorships have been awarded there. The university is intended to train students according to a new concept, for example by closely interlinking the natural sciences and humanities. The lectures should be held entirely in English.

Grimm had recently made a name for himself with public contributions and numerous talk show appearances on the economic situation and energy issues in Germany. Together with the chemist Peter Wasserscheid, she also heads the Erlangen-based Hydrogen Bavaria Center (H2.B).

Grimm is scheduled to take up a professorship for energy systems and market design in Nuremberg on March 1st. “At the interface of artificial intelligence and economics, she can use her expertise to open up new horizons for us to meet the global challenges in the area of ​​energy markets and market processes with a pioneering spirit,” said the founding president of the TU Nuremberg, Hans Jürgen Prömel.
