Ebersberg job market recovers after the winter break – Ebersberg

The number of unemployed has recently fallen slightly in the Freising Employment Agency district, which also includes the Ebersberg district: In February 2023, a total of 9608 people were looking for a new job in the Freising, Erding, Dachau and Ebersberg districts, 270 women and men fewer than in January 2023. For the district of the Freising Employment Agency, the unemployment rate was 2.6 percent in February 2023. In the previous month the rate was 2.7 percent, in February 2022 it was 2.4 percent. If you look at the Ebersberg district alone, things look even better. The unemployment rate here fell by 0.1 percentage points to 2.4 percent. In February 2022, the rate for the district was 2.1 percent.

“The regional labor market is currently proving to be robust and increasingly receptive,” explains Nikolaus Windisch, CEO of the Freising Employment Agency. “Of course, wintry weather conditions continued to affect the labor market in February: outside occupations could only be worked to a limited extent. Overall, however, the demand for workers has increased slightly again in recent weeks.”

Employees are particularly sought after in the manufacturing industry

In February 2023, the companies from the four districts reported 1,130 new jobs to be filled to the employment agency, which is 397 more offers than in the previous month. A total of 6487 job offers were recently found in the employment agency’s job pool.

The manufacturing industry was looking for employees for 1545 jobs. 1,485 job offers were reported to the Employment Agency in the occupational areas of transport, logistics, protection and security. In February there was a demand for 1,027 positions in commercial services, trade, sales and tourism.

The first statistical evaluations are also available for the regional training market: “The picture that has emerged so far is quite positive for young people looking for a training place. The willingness of companies in our four districts to provide training is still high,” says Nikolaus Windisch.

A total of 2812 training places were reported to the employment agency between October 2022 and February 2023. That was 246 more jobs compared to the same period last year. These include 236 training positions for prospective retail salespeople, 198 positions for salespeople, 134 positions for office management clerks, 125 positions for commercial specialists, 123 positions for warehouse logistics specialists, 119 positions for dental specialists, 94 positions for wholesale management clerks, and 80 positions for freight forwarders and logistics clerks, 68 positions for medical specialists and 64 positions for energy and building electronics technicians. The skilled trades are also looking for numerous young professionals in a wide variety of professions.

“Students who don’t yet know what they will do after they graduate should definitely seek advice now so they don’t waste any more time,” advises Nikolaus Windisch. The careers advice service of the employment agency supports schoolchildren in choosing a career, in the search for a suitable apprenticeship or university place, gives tips on how to apply and provides information on funding opportunities.
