Bitter news for a children’s and youth hospice in Düsseldorf: Shortly before Christmas, the facility’s minibus was stolen. The club and the police are now asking for help in finding the vehicle.

Unknown people stole a Mercedes van in Düsseldorf shortly before Christmas – of all things Children’s and youth hospice. ““Sad and stunned, we look at the empty parking lot shortly before Christmas,” said the Rainbowland facility in the North Rhine-Westphalia state capital. “Our sprinter, with which we were able to provide our guests with life-limiting illnesses with beautiful trips and unforgettable moments together, was presented directly stolen from our front door.”

Loud police The vehicle was stolen from the hospice premises in the Gerresheim district between December 14th and 21st. It is a silver-colored model with colorful stickers that read, among other things, “Children’s Hospice Rainbowland”, “For Together Moments” and “Toni Kroos Foundation”. The sprinter has a green license plate: D – RL 1002.

The investigation into the case is ongoing, but so far there is no indication of the perpetrator or perpetrators or the whereabouts of the sprinter. The hospice is now without the minibus for the time being – “This simply leaves us speechless,” wrote the sponsoring association and appealed: “Please keep your eyes open, with a lot of luck and combined forces we will find ours vehicle maybe again.”

Hundreds of users reacted in shock to the theft on the Rainbow Country’s social media presence. Many made offers of support to the club. Fundraising campaigns were launched. “We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts for the compassion, the many kind and consoling words and the great support!” wrote the hospice. “We are still speechless, but are very happy about this great connection.

The Düsseldorf police will receive information about the perpetrator or perpetrators and the whereabouts of the vehicle on telephone number (0211) 8700.
