Summer trend or not, polka dots seem to be a real soft spot for Duchess Kate. Most recently, she wore a polka dot dress at Wimbledon.

The dot dress is traded as a summer trend, but Duchess Kate (40) has long been one of her favorite parts.

Light blue and recycled at Wimbledon

Most recently, she wore a variant on Tuesday at the tennis tournament in Wimbledon. She also posted two photos of herself in a light blue summer midi dress with white dots on the Instagram account of herself and her husband, Prince William (40). She already had this polka-dot dress by designer Alessandra Rich four weeks earlier at an event in London Worn to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee (96).

Inspired by Princess Diana?

In mid-June, Kate appeared at the famous Royal Ascot horse race in a high-necked white dress with dark brown polka dots. She also wore a brown fascinator with white flowers and a pair of fine pearl earrings. Her brunette hair was styled in an elegant bun.

Kate may have found inspiration for her elegant look in that of Princess Diana (1961-1997) from 1986. The mother of Prince William and Prince Harry (37) wore a similar polka-dot dress with shoulder pads and blue dots at another horse race at the time, along with a matching hat and teardrop-shaped pearl earrings.

Shortly before the birth of her first son, Prince George, 8, she attended a Harry Potter exhibition in a comfortable polka-dot mini dress. Back in 2013, the dress was white and the slightly larger dots were black.

The baby blue version

Speaking of George. Shortly after his birth, his proud parents introduced him to the world public. For this appointment for eternity, the new mother at the time threw herself into a loose, light-blue mini dress with white dots.

Black and white is a popular variant

Duchess Kate always likes to choose the black and white version. She also has dark blue and dark green with white dots in her closet. The latter has also been recycled, where she simply varied the cut slightly, adding a large collar to one and a large bow in the color and pattern of the dress to another.
