For my 40th birthday
This is what the future queen looks like: Palast publishes new photos of Duchess Kate
For the 40th birthday, the royal palace publishes three new photos of Duchess Kate. The pictures will be publicly available in the future.
There are pictures with a wow factor: Just in time for Duchess Kate’s 40th birthday, the royal palace has published three new photos of the future queen. In the only color photo, the Duchess literally shines into the camera, wearing a bright red Alexander McQueen dress with wide sleeves and a free shoulder. The 40-year-old wears earrings that were lent to her by Queen Elizabeth II. (You can also see all published pictures in our photo gallery)
Meanwhile, the other two photos published by the palace appear in a completely different light – they are black and white photos of the Duchess that are reminiscent of pictures of other queens and royal family members. With loose hair in a white dress, the engagement ring on her hand and earrings from Princess Diana, Kate looks to the side in a photo – it is the picture that was published on the official Instagram account of Prince William and his wife and caused a storm of enthusiasm. “Queen! Beautiful! Adorable! Stunning! That is exactly what we have been waiting for,” wrote a user under the post.
Pictures of Duchess Kate are on display
Another published recording also shows Kate in a white dress, but it is a close-up of the Duchess, which captures the naturalness of the 40-year-old. The photos were taken in November 2021 in Kew Gardens, the botanical gardens in west London by star photographer Paolo Roversi. The 74-year-old fashion photographer works regularly with supermodels like Kate Moss, and his pictures have appeared in Vogue and Vanity Fair, among others.
The three portraits of Duchess Kate will also be shown publicly in the future. The National Portrait Gallery, of which Duchess Kate is the patron, will include the pictures in the permanent exhibition “Coming Home”. Famous personalities can be seen there in places that are closely related to them. Pictures from the exhibition travel across the UK to give people the chance to celebrate famous people locally in their city.
