Duchess Kate dances in the Caribbean – and is overshadowed by William

Watch the video: Duchess Kate and Prince William dance during their Caribbean trip.

Duchess Kate and Prince William presented themselves relaxed and close to the people on the second day of their Caribbean trip. In Belize, they danced to drumbeats and chants before the eyes of the villagers of Hopkins. Located on the east coast of Central America, Belize was known as British Honduras until 1973. The royals’ visit coincides with celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70th jubilee. In the run-up to the trip, there were already some irritations. Among other things, a visit to a cocoa farm is said to have been canceled because the residents there did not want to receive the royal couple. The protest was intended to demonstrate rejection of colonialism. Instead of visiting the cocoa farm, William and Kate helped make traditional chocolate on Sunday. They ground cocoa seeds with a stone tool. The further journey of Duchess Kate and Prince William will take the royal couple to Jamaica and the Bahamas, among other places. The Queen herself will follow the visit from her Windsor Castle with interest, the palace said in a statement.
