Duchess Camilla is set to become the new patron of London’s National Theatre. Previously, Duchess Meghan had this task.

Duchess Camilla (74), wife of Prince Charles (73), is to become the royal patron of the National Theater in London. British media report about this plan, including “The Sunday Times”, consistent. Camilla would become Duchess Meghan’s (40) successor.

Queen Elizabeth II (95) should entrust the prestigious role to Camilla in the coming months. The queen, who held this position for 45 years, made Duchess Meghan the royal patron of the National Theater in early 2019. However, Prince Harry’s (37) wife had to relinquish patronage in 2021 after the couple resigned from their royal duties.

Camilla is obviously looking forward to the patronage

Duchess Camilla is said to have been “quite disappointed” that she was not allowed to take on the task in 2019. According to the report, this was revealed by an anonymous source close to the 74-year-old. Therefore, she will probably be “all the more delighted” at the second attempt.

Harry and Meghan had to give up numerous honorary posts and patronage after their resignation. The palace had confirmed in February 2021 that the two will not return as working senior royals and that other family members will fill the different roles.
