The status symbols of rich people have always been an oddity in themselves. It starts with eating more or less tasteless fish eggs and doesn’t end with crazy ostentatious symbols like lotus feet or completely absurd weight ideas for women and men, both upwards and downwards. Once you reach a certain level of salary and wealth, there are simply no limits to what you can imagine. The question of whether the price-performance ratio is right is usually ignored, as are other concerns. Someone has to spend the money.
