Large-scale operation against drug crime in eleven NRW cities

Houses, apartments and business premises were searched in parallel in North Rhine-Westphalia. It’s about suspicion of drug cultivation and trafficking.
In a large-scale operation against organized ones Houses, apartments and business premises were searched on Wednesday morning, especially in North Rhine-Westphalia. The action is aimed at several defendants “who are suspected of illegally growing and distributing narcotics,” said the Duisburg public prosecutor’s office and the State Criminal Police Office.
The measures are still ongoing, a spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office said in the morning, a few hours after the action began.
There were searches in eleven cities in North Rhine-Westphalia – Duisburg, Bochum, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Gladbeck, Wuppertal, Marl, Moers, Dinslaken, Oberhausen and Kalkar. According to information, there was also an operation in Halstenbek in southern Schleswig-Holstein.
The spokesman initially did not provide any information about the accused. It’s about drug crime. “There is no direct connection to the mafia,” he said. Special police units were also involved in the measures. Details should be given throughout the day.
