The Confederates are the opponents of national coach Alfred Gislason’s team in the opening game on January 10 next year in the Düsseldorf soccer arena. That was the result of the draw in Düsseldorf.
After the start, where the German Handball Federation is hoping for 50,000 fans and thus a world record number of spectators, the German team will move to Berlin for the other group games. The first and second place winners from each of the six preliminary round groups advance to the main round.
In the case of sporting success, the DHB selection continues against the two best teams from groups B and C. The venue for the games on January 18th, 20th, 22nd and 24th is Cologne, where the semi-finals will also take place on January 26th and the medals will be awarded on January 28th. Other venues for the final round are Hamburg, Mannheim and Munich.
