If you follow the criminal proceedings against Donald Trump from the courtroom, not on any screen, then completely unknown people suddenly become the main characters. An older man in a black shirt and gold tie, for example, who was born in Puerto Rico and has lived in the Lower East Side of downtown Manhattan for 40 years, is one of the seven jurors who were selected for the jury on Tuesday to pass judgment against Trump. He says of the former president that he finds him “fascinating and mysterious.” Trump “walks into a room and upsets people.” Trump’s lawyer, Todd Blanche, didn’t really know what to make of that statement.
