The young American Chelsea knows many different dog breeds through her job. And she knows very well which ones she would personally never want to buy – and why not.

A young American who posts videos on TikTok under the nickname @chilicheesechelsea has sparked heated discussions online with a humorous clip. Because Chelsea, who has professional experience as a dog sitter and also owns several dogs herself, revealed which five breeds she would never get herself – for reasons.

It is a well-known fact that dogs are man’s best friend, and dog owners are quick to react sensitively when someone criticizes their pets. Chelsea, however, can justify each of their nominations, and also makes it clear that the ranking is meant with a wink: “I love these breeds, I just don’t want to own them myself. It’s just my opinion! And also a joke, after all I have a Chihuaha …”

The five “worst” dog breeds

However, the reactions to their top 5 “worst” dog breeds were very – surprising. But first the affected dogs:

  • husky
    (Chelsea: “Complete freaks always yelling”)
  • German shepherd dog
(Chelsea: “Always the scariest of them all, why?”)
  • Samoyed
    (Chelsea: “Barking non-stop. Don’t take a joke.”)
  • Doodle
(Chelsea: “Really the worst. The owners can’t handle their energy so they become uncontrollable demons. Also always matted!”
  • “little white dogs with crusty eyes”
    (Chelsea: “Crusted Little Knee-biters”)

Now, fans of all these breeds might be offended and outraged, from the imposing German Shepherd to the fluffy white Samoyed. But almost all dog owners in the comments understand what Chelsea meant and take the judgment with humor. Many even agree with her. “I can confirm that German Shepherds are fearful, even after a lot of professional training,” writes one woman. Another comment said, “As a husky owner, I knew huskies were going to show up here. Understandably.”

One group, however, is unwilling to accept Chelsea’s humorous critique: Doodle owners! Doodles aren’t actually an official breed, but rather so-called “designer dogs” – crosses between Poodles and Labradors or Golden Retrievers. Since they hardly lose any hair, they are also suitable for allergy sufferers and are therefore currently very popular. But what many owners apparently underestimate: Doodles have a lot of energy and a will of their own, so it takes more effort to train and care for them than many owners initially expect.

“Leave Doodle alone!”

But the Doodle faction isn’t willing to let anything bad happen to their dogs. “I love my Doodle, he’s even trained as an assistance dog. We take him to schools where children read him something,” writes one woman proudly. “Leave Doodles alone!”, it says elsewhere, or: “They are little angels!” A user tries to clarify: “They are clearly the best and dearest dogs ever!”

This vigorous resistance caused plenty of ridicule and amusement from the rest of Chelsea’s crowd. “The Doodle owners are fighting for their lives here in the comments, I’m laughing my ass off,” writes someone. “As the owners of every other breed you mention agree with you and only the Doodle owners claim these are the best dogs, it kind of gets to the point,” joked another commenter. But Chelsea also gets a lot of support when it comes to their verdict. One young woman reports: “I totally agree with you about the doodles. They are the worst! As a professional walker, I know that they are a disaster on a leash. I’m so glad someone is telling me!”
