Does a corona vaccination even make sense for those who have recovered? – District of Munich

Oskar Paulicks fell ill with the corona virus in the first wave. Over a year later, the 66-year-old still has a lot of antibodies. But he too has to be vaccinated in order to participate in the easing. How well are those who have recovered protected from a new infection?

Of

It caught him with the first wave. The fever rose, then came the breathing problems. The PCR test confirmed: Corona. Six days in hospital followed. That was in March 2020, when hardly anyone wore a mask or kept their distance, schools were still open and politicians were just starting to debate hygiene rules. He doesn’t know where Oskar Paulicks got infected. Maybe on the S-Bahn, maybe at work as a vocational school teacher in Munich, certainly not at home. The head of the TSV Unterhaching department has long been doing well again. But because his infection was more than six months ago, he is no longer considered to have recovered. If he wants to enjoy relaxation, he has to be vaccinated or constantly tested.
