The problems in the Documenta search committee are expanding. At the weekend it was announced that the Israeli artist and philosopher Bracha Lichtenberg Ettinger had announced her resignation from the six-member search committee. Only on Thursday did the SZ report that a member of the search committee for the 2019 Kassel Art Show had signed a declaration from the BDS. Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth declared this to be “clearly anti-Semitic” and threatened to withdraw funding from Documenta.
