Documenta: How the guides were trained on antisemitism – Culture

This documenta should be a meeting of friends, cheerful, embracing, inclusive. This is also reflected in the name that the Indonesian curatorial collective Ruangrupa came up with for the many helpers who were supposed to guide the audience through the art exhibition: they called them “Sobat-sobat”, the Indonesian term for good friends. Many of them are art students or artists themselves, who are now supposed to give tours and answer questions. Because of the many warnings before the start of the exhibition and the scandal that actually occurred shortly after the opening, also and above all: on the subject of anti-Semitism.
