Numerous studies have shown that globules and homeopathic drops have no demonstrable effect. In pharmacies, however, they are still touted and sold as medicinal products. There is one main reason for this.
The Bavarian doctors are rethinking. With a large majority, the Bavarian Medical Association decided in October to remove the additional designation homeopathy from the further training regulations. This means that members can no longer acquire a certificate of homeopathic knowledge recognized by the Medical Association. The Bavarians are not pioneers, however: in the past few years ten other state medical associations have already banned homeopathy from their further training regulations. Most recently, the number of homeopathic remedies that were dispensed on a doctor’s prescription also fell nationwide.
