Disturbing disappearance of Chloé, 20-year-old jogger: what we know about the research that resumed this Saturday in Seine-et-Marne

She left for a run early Friday morning and was to take up her post as a carer at 2 p.m. in an nursing home. But Chloé did not show up at work and has not given any sign of life since her disappearance in Dammartin-en-Goële (Seine-et-Marne). This Saturday, the young 20-year-old jogger, who left her home without her phone, has still not been found and the search interrupted Friday evening at 9:30 p.m. resumed.

The concern of his relatives

It was the mother of the young woman who gave the alert. Late Friday evening, the concerned mother posted a message on Facebook. “My daughter Chloé has been missing since this morning during her daily jog. She had nothing on her, just her running gear. Usually she has her phone but she lent it to a family member,” she says.

“If you saw her, saw her or have any clues… She was supposed to go on vacation with us, she had important appointments today. No reason to leave. Thank you for your support. “, adds his mother.

The raked area

“We immediately took this disappearance, which was described as worrying, seriously. We have deployed very significant resources on the ground,” summed up squadron leader Séverine Hammel, commander of the Meaux gendarmerie company, on Friday. “In this kind of situation, the first hours are decisive. Before widening the search area, it is necessary to carry out a search as close as possible to the last place where the missing person was seen. »

In this case, Chloé, who, according to our information, was filmed around 6 a.m. by a CCTV camera located down her street, lives about a hundred meters from the entrance to the Corbie municipal park. It is a wooded and closed space of a dozen hectares including a piece of water. It is located north of the town, the old center of the town. This is where the very first searches were concentrated even if there is “not necessarily a trace of Chloe in the park”, adds squadron leader Hammel.

Chloe has short brown hair with blonde highlights and brown eyes. The young woman of 1m56 wears a piercing in the nose. When she disappeared, she was wearing a black sleeveless jacket, a royal blue sweatshirt with a judo-related inscription and white sneakers.

A hundred gendarmes mobilized to find her

In total, 75 soldiers from various departmental and regional services who were deployed in the field initially on Friday, and a hundred this Saturday. The tracking dogs of a cynophile team as well as six riders of the Republican Guard and their horses inspected the area. A helicopter from the national gendarmerie – dispatched from Vélizy-Villacoublay (Yvelines) – flew over the scene to scan the territory of the town. A military drone was also engaged in the search for traces of the young woman.

Off-road motorcycles from the Seine-et-Marne Departmental Road Safety Squadron crisscrossed the area. Military divers inspected the body of water located in the park. The firefighters also made available to the gendarmes two pilots and their drones equipped with thermal cameras as well as a canine team, accompanied by Saint-Hubert from Bourges and Orléans.

“At the same time, a procedure for worrying disappearance was opened, notes Colonel Michael Fumery, head of the gendarmerie group in the department of Seine-et-Marne. “We are connected with the family,” he adds.

The investigation was entrusted to the research section of Paris in conjunction with the research brigade of Meaux. The town hall has made the Louis-Lumière room available to the military so that they can set up their operational command post there.
