“District Z”, “The Artist”, “The Princes and Princesses of Love”… It flopped on TV this season

First days of July, the sun shines through the windows of the classroom, we erase the board and we distribute the good points. And the bad ones. It has been a long time since a program has been deprogrammed on TF1. But given the resources put into the production of District Z and from the scores that the program has recorded, it took just two weeks for the channel to bring an end to the suffering of the zombies.

The first episode, broadcast on December 4, conquered 2.03 million people, while the following was followed by only 1.57 million viewers. The creatures in the Arthur-produced game were more biting than the previous season, but audiences didn’t get caught up in the entertainment. Before his hotel of time arrives on France 3, the host and producer chained the TV promos to explain the principle of his documentary (to make the dead speak) and its cogs (the deepfake). Obviously, the regulars of the public service had not seized everything by connecting to the chain.

The first issue, devoted to Dalida, suffered some criticism, in particular on the reconstruction of the face of Claude François, but was generally praised for its technical prowess. However, only 1.4 million curious people followed this inaugural episode. Others should still arrive on the air at the start of the school year with Coluche and Jean Gabin.

The princes and princesses of love (W9)

Big air hole for The princes and princesses of love. While the previous edition had conquered 682,000 followers, the ninth season of W9 reality TV could only count on 344,000 aficionados in December and January. Due to “insufficient audiences”, the channel even decided to cancel the dating show two weeks before the originally scheduled date.

Reality TV would she lead in the wing? This is not the opinion of W9, which is betting more than ever on this genre for the coming season. “We are in a movement of renewal and the launch of important new products”, announced the director general of the chain Jérôme Fouqueray this week during a press conference. In total, the ten episodes broadcast by the channel attracted an average of 19,000 French people. The worst score was even recorded on September 27 with… 3,000 people in front of their screens. That it is difficult to convert followers into viewers. We hope that the PAF will learn the lesson for the coming season.
