Until the end of October there will be restrictions on the A 8 between Munich-Perlach and the Munich-South motorway junction due to the renewal of the roadway in the direction of Salzburg. The work started this Monday and will be carried out in several sections from north to south. On weekdays, two lanes are opened for traffic on this section, at weekends the flow of traffic in the direction of the Munich-South motorway junction is restricted to one lane – Autobahn GmbH Südbayern refers to the parallel A 995 as an alternative route.

From August 16th to 29th, the entrances and exits in the direction of Salzburg will be closed to traffic at the Neubiberg junction; In the course of the renovation of the A 8, the Unterhaching-Ost and Taufkirchen-Ost junctions will also be closed in sections for the direction of Salzburg in September and October. The exact dates will be announced later.

The A 8 roadway, which is getting on in years, has to be completely renewed. The entire asphalt superstructure with base course, binder course and surface course will be completely removed and then reapplied layer by layer. A noise-reducing covering is used. The Autobahn GmbH points out that the work is necessary to “ensure safe navigability of the Autobahn in the future as well”.
