District Greens: Change at the top – district of Munich

The Greens in the Munich district have a new chairwoman: Lucia Kott from Neubiberg will lead the third-largest district association in Bavaria with 750 members together with Volker Leib – that was the result of the regular board election in the party’s state office in Munich. Kott succeeds Sabine Pilsinger, who did not return for professional reasons.

Municipal councilor Kott has more than five years of experience as district manager of the Greens. A career change made it possible to move to the board of directors. With a view to the state elections in autumn, she says: “2023 will be a decisive year. We Greens want and must become the political force that no one can ignore for climate protection that really deserves the name.” Her agenda also includes getting more women involved in the Greens, as she emphasizes: “Equality is important to me, and it’s not just in politics that it has to apply: women should have half the power!”

Volker Leib, who has been in office since 2017, was confirmed as district chairman. “An economically strong district like ours must do more to protect the climate. What has happened so far is not enough – it is too little and too slow,” said Oberhachinger. “We district Greens want to put pressure on to make faster progress on the way to climate neutrality.”

The ranks of assessors on the board complete the newly elected Lena Gründer from Oberhaching and Bernhard Schüßler from Unterschleißheim. Uta Hirschberg, Felicia Kocher, Dominik Dommer, and Markus Wutzke were all re-elected. Helga Keller-Zenth from Oberschleißheim continues as cashier, as does Leon Matella from Ottobrunn as secretary.
