It’s a bizarre case: In January, a film trailer was released that suggested that star French author Michel Houellebecq had starred in a pornographic film. Typically, it was said: Houellebecq, the provocateur, who years ago compared himself to an “old sick turtle,” was once again only aiming for the shock effect. Or one assumed another of those media confusions for which the 67-year-old has been famous since he staged his own – fictitious – kidnapping in a 2014 film.
