Men can be good fairies too – at least according to Disney. Some users on the net see it differently and sharply criticize the bearded Disney employee in the dress.

For some, the Disney group and its characters are not diverse enough, for others they are too woke. The latter are currently raging online about a bearded Disney employee in a dress.

In a viral Tiktok video, the clerk wears a dress and colorful eyeshadow alongside his mustache – and greets a teenage girl at the Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. He introduces himself by saying “My name is Nick, I’m one of the fairy godmother’s apprentices”. Like his female apprentice colleagues, Nick guides the customers through the boutique and advises them on their purchases.

“The illusion is destroyed.”

Influencer and mother-of-three Kournti Farber, who posted the video on Tiktok, was delighted with Nick and her visit to the Disney boutique. Other more conservative users, however, were critical of the bearded employee in the dress. “A man in drag is not only bizarre and inappropriate but also deprives guests of access to the ‘show’ – the illusion is shattered,” tweeted author Peachy Keenan.

Attorney Jenna Ellis, known for her work under former US President Donald Trump, writes: “This is disgusting and wrong. I remember the days when the ‘Disney look’ didn’t even allow women to wear nail polish colors wear. And now THAT?!”

Disney seems too liberal for the Florida governor

Most recently, Disney was with Ron DeSantis, the US state governorFlorida, got into a bizarre argument. The background to the conflict was the “Don’t Say Gay” law passed by DeSantis, which was intended to restrict education about gender identities in elementary schools. The right-wing hardliner wants Disney to lose its semi-autonomous status, which gives the company far-reaching powers in tax matters and the shaping of zoning regulations, due to its overly liberal corporate culture.
