Show specials, free TV premieres, final shows or crime dramas: the extended Whitsun weekend has some TV highlights in store.

Many TV stations use the Pentecost weekend to provide the audience with some special program items. Viewers can watch from Saturday to Whit Monday, especially during prime time at 8:15 p.m Enjoy highlights from the show, cinema and crime universe.

May 18th: “RTL Wasserspiele”, RTL

The Siam Park on Tenerife will once again be home to the “RTL Wasserspiele”. In the park with over 29 slides and a wave pool with four meter high waves, celebrities want to prove themselves in eight wet games and then face the “daring finale”. This time the field of candidates includes reality star Antonia Hemmer (24), party singer Isi Glück (33), presenter Nina Moghaddam (43), handball star Pascal Hens (44), reality star Serkan Yavuz (27) and “Let’Dance” star Valentin Lusin (37). The whole thing is moderated by Laura Papendick, Jan Köppen and Oliver Pocher.

May 18th: “Wendland – Stiller and the common thread”, ZDF

This time, the crime series “Wendland” is about an alleged wildlife accident on a country road. Next to a dead boar lies a lifeless man who was stabbed like the boar. While investigating the death of the master baker in a nearby town, Chief Inspector Jakob Stiller (Ulrich Noethen) and his colleague Kira Engelmann (Bettina Burchard) come across the Wendland hunting school, which is located near the crime scene. Raik Kleinert, hunting instructor and head of the school, and individual hunting students seem to be hiding something. And then there is a poacher who is causing mischief in the area…

May 18: “The Masked Singer”, ProSieben

On May 18th it will be revealed who is under the last masks. “The Masked Singer” started its tenth season at the beginning of April with a new guessing team duo, presenter Palina Rojinski (39) and actor Rick Kavanian (53), and a respective guessing guest. The masks so far have turned out to include Annett Louisan (47) as a cotton candy, Uschi Glas (80) as a baby lion and Hugo Egon Balder (74) as a couch potato. Who will follow Jennifer Rostock frontwoman Jennifer Weist (37) as the winner of the season and who will be the mystery in the finale?

May 19th: “Raya and the Last Dragon”, Sat.1

Free TV premiere on Sunday on Sat.1: In the Disney animated film “Raya and the Last Dragon” (2021), the brave warrior Raya wants to protect her homeland of Kumandra from an evil force. She goes on a search for a legendary dragon who, as the last of his kind, could restore peace in her country, which has been broken into different kingdoms. On her adventure trip she has to face a number of challenges together with her faithful companion, armadillo Tuk Tuk, because the fate of Kumandra lies in her hands.

May 19th “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The Surprise Special”, RTL

After an Easter special, Günther Jauch (67) invites you to another “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” special. At Pentecost, RTL will show two surprise episodes of the quiz show on Sunday and Monday, in which eight candidates will compete in the selection round for the chance to be on the council chair. Those who make it to the coveted chair can look forward to a Pentecost surprise that can help them throughout the quiz levels.

May 19th: “Grill den Henssler – Zwillings-Special”, VOX

Pentecost Sunday also has a new episode of “Grill den Henssler” in store: This time, Dennis and Benni Wolter (33), Cheyenne and Valentina Pahde (29) as well as “Doppelgänger” Paul Janke ( 42) and Julius Brink (41). As usual, the jury consisting of Jana Ina Zarrella (47), Reiner Calmund (75) and Christian Rach (66) as well as presenter Laura Wontorra (35) are taking part in the so-called twin special.

May 20th: “The Prince from Zamunda 2”, Sat.1

The film comedy “The Prince of Zamunda 2” celebrates its free TV premiere on Whit Monday: In the sequel to “The Prince of Zamunda” from 1988, Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) is soon to ascend the throne of Zamunda. When his father is dying, he is surprised with news: Akeem is said to have a son who lives in New York City. He sets off for America to meet his successor and future King of Zamunda. Will his descendant Lavelle properly represent the kingdom?

May 20: “The Suicide Squad”, ProSieben

Free TV premiere of “The Suicide Squad” (2021) by director James Gunn (57): The special task force, whose members are criminals with superpowers, is facing a delicate mission: after a coup against the democratic government on the island Corto Maltese is supposed to infiltrate the Suicide Squad into the enemy camp in order to obtain secret information. But the military is on their trail and wants to ensure that the suicide squad lives up to its name. John Cena (Peacemaker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Idris Elba (Bloodsport) are among others.

May 20th: “Crime Scene: Last Trip to Schauinsland”

The Black Forest crime thriller, the last “crime scene” before the summer break, is about a man who has been in prison for a long time because of violence against his wife and children. Hansi Pagel comes into the focus of inspectors Franziska Tobler (Eva Löbau) and Friedemann Berg (Hans-Jochen Wagner) when the psychologist and psychiatric expert Lisa Schieblon is found strangled in the trunk of her car. Schieblon had been working on a new report on Pagel’s personality disorder that was intended to secure his release. But Pagel’s wife and son are happy that he remains locked up. And the doctors at the forensic clinic still consider him dangerous.
