It is a lawyer’s job to apply the law. That’s enough for Sandra Runge, 45, but not. The labor lawyer and author rubs shoulders with paragraphs and finds loopholes in the law. She is the mother of two school children and has experienced herself being discriminated against at work. Last year she started a petition to change the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). Together with the journalist friend and co-author Karline Wenzel, she collected 50,000 signatures and submitted them to the Bundestag. Laws aren’t set in stone.
