My dinosaurs and I: That’s why children love to play with prehistoric animals

They have been extinct for a long time, but still have a great fascination for children. In the typical dinosaur phase, their thirst for knowledge can hardly be quenched, so that many parents have to regularly provide supplies of prehistoric animals.

Thanks to the toy industry, dinosaurs come in all shapes and sizes these days: from plush toys and books to robots and construction kits, the possibilities are endless. But why do so many children actually like primeval animals that no longer exist? In fact, one of the main reasons is that dinosaurs are long gone – and therefore no longer pose a real threat. In addition, her disappearance is still a myth that raises many questions and thus amounts to an exciting balancing act into the past.
