Dieudonné tried for fraud after a show in a castle

He has another court date. Already convicted on multiple occasions for insults and incitement to racial hatred, Dieudonné will appear this Monday afternoon before the Rennes Criminal Court for receiving property obtained through fraud. A summons which follows a show that the controversial comedian gave on February 25 in the Château de la Beauvais in Piré-Chance, south-east of Rennes.

A few days earlier, the owner had been contacted by a mysterious company wanting to rent the castle for a so-called theatrical performance. But on the day of the show, the woman finally discovered that her property was going to serve as a stage for a show by Dieudonné, accustomed with his teams to this type of practice.

A preliminary investigation opened by the prosecution

Panicked at the idea of ​​possible excesses, the owner contacted the gendarmerie who sent a patrol. The show, which brought together 180 people, ultimately took place without incident but a preliminary investigation was opened by the Rennes public prosecutor’s office.

In July 2021, the polemicist had already been fined 6,000 euros by the Lille criminal court for renting rooms for his shows under false pretenses.
