Didier Raoult appeals the release of Karine Lacombe for defamation

Didier Raoult is not satisfied and doubts the “good faith” of Karine Lacombe. On Tuesday, the Marseille criminal court acquitted the head of service at Saint-Antoine hospital in Paris, accused of defamation by the Marseille professor for remarks made in July 2020. If the judges recognized the defamatory nature of Karine Lacombe’s remarks , the Parisian doctor “benefited from the excuse of good faith which prevents her from being condemned”, explained after the hearing the lawyer for Didier Raoult Brice Grazzini. The former director of the IHU announced appeal this decision.

Karine Lacombe had notably declared that “legal actions [contre Didier Raoult] for lying before the parliamentary commission are ongoing”. Before the commission of the National Assembly, Didier Raout had maintained that the mortality of Covid-19 was lower in Marseille than in Paris. The case will therefore be retried.
