Controversial Bundesliga deal
DFL: Professional clubs vote against investor entry

At an extraordinary general meeting of the German Football League, the 36 professional clubs rejected the entry of an investor. Now there is clarity about the controversial Bundesliga deal.

The first and second division clubs have rejected the entry of an investor in the German Football League. A corresponding motion did not receive the required two-thirds majority at the extraordinary DFL general meeting, participants reported after the end of the meeting.

Before the start of the extraordinary general meeting, the Finanzwende association had protested against the entry of an investor into professional football. Some members handed over a corresponding petition with over 9000 signatures.
