Bitter news for Bayern, especially for Kingsley Coman. The sports court of the German Football Association has suspended the Frenchman for three games for assault in the Bundesliga game against VfB Stuttgart.
The 25-year-old Frenchman was sent off in the 95th minute of last Sunday’s 2-2 draw against VfB Stuttgart after a red card for assault. After a hard entry from Stuttgart’s Konstantinos Mavropanos in midfield, Coman slapped the Greek in the face.
As the DFB sports court announced on Tuesday, the winger was handed a three-game ban for this offense. The ban applies to both league and/or DFB cup games. Coman will not only miss the end of the season at VfL Wolfsburg next weekend, but would also miss the first two competitive games in the new 2022/23 season.
Bayern can appeal the verdict within 24 hours.
