In the fight against delays, Deutsche Bahn wants to massively push ahead with the renovation of the ailing rail network in the next few years. The state-owned company announced on Friday that a total of 40 important sections of the route would be closed and renovated for months by 2030. This is the largest renovation program in decades. The aim is to make train traffic more punctual in the long term, the company said. The most important railway corridors should be completely renovated in the new decade.
