The secret morse code in Kyle Sandilands and Tegan Kynaston’s black and white diamond wedding bands

Radio king Kyle Sandilands and Tegan Kynaston tied the knot in front of their nearest and dearest – including celebrities, politicians and family – on Saturday.

And as the couple exchanged vows, they also exchange stunning and very meaningful wedding bands.

Zena and Tariq K’dor of House of K’dor are longtime friends of the couple and designed and created the rings as a wedding gift for the pair.

Zena exclusively told Daily Mail Australia that not only do the bands contain stunning black and white diamonds, they also feature the couples initials and secret ‘morse’ codes.

‘K’dor was honoured to create bespoke wedding bands for Kyle and Tegan, designed with love and unique to them both, featuring the initials of K, T and O for their new son,’ she said.

‘Meticulously handcrafted in 18k white gold with a combination of black and white diamonds, the initials have been created in Morse Code one of K’dor’s signature collections.’

Morse code was invented in 1844, assigning dots and dashes to each letter of the English alphabet.

It was initially used for the telegraph, sending electrical signals across wires and between stations before being adapted into sounds and sent via radio circuits.

House of K’dor has its own Morse Code collection which inspired the newlywed’s rings.

In 1999 fine jeweller Tarick K’dor opened the boutique jewellery in western Sydney and before long they earnt the title of Sydney’s celebrity diamond dealer.

Tarick and wife Zena, who serves as creative director for the brand, now has a global client base, enjoying brand collaborations with Lamborghini, Moet Hennessey and Etihad.

Their extensive celebrity clients span far wider than Sandilands and include superstar Kelly Rowland, singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte, WAG Kyly Clarke, heiress Deborah Symond-O’Neil and Terry Biviano.

Sandilands told Daily Mail Australia celebrity jeweller House of K’dor had gifted the rings as a thank-you for being a long-time customer.

He revealed Kynaston’s ring was a delicate band, while his was much flashier.

‘Tegan likes dainty-looking jewellery, apart from the engagement ring, that’s a monster. But she doesn’t like too big,’ he explained.

‘And then I have a platinum ring surrounded by black diamonds.’

Radio host Kyle Sandilands tied the knot for the second time on Saturday in a spectacular wedding.

The 51-year-old shock jock said ‘I do’ with communications executive Tegan Kynaston, 37, at the heritage-listed Swifts mansion in Sydney’s Darling Point – as much of the city ran for cover to escape the downpour.

The newlyweds exchanged vows in front of 130 guests at the $60million late-Victorian Gothic Revival property in a ceremony rumoured to have cost the KIIS FM presenter and Australian Idol judge a cool $1million.

It’s the second time down the aisle for Sandilands, who wed pop singer Tamara Jaber in 2008 before divorcing two years later. Kynaston hasn’t been married before.

Sandilands had hinted at the price of his wedding on The Kyle and Jackie O Show last Monday as he and his co-host Henderson challenged listeners to guess the cost of specific elements of the wedding in a game called ‘Higher or Lower’.

‘You know where I made the mistake? When I first met the wedding planner and the wedding stylist… they were like, “Okay, what budget are we dealing with?” and I said, “There is no budget,”‘ Sandilands said at the start of the segment.

Among the most expensive features was the floral arrangements, which cost a whopping $150,000.

Henderson, who spent just $80,000 on her wedding to ex-husband Lee in the early 2000s, was stunned by the price tag, asking Sandilands: ‘150 grand for something that’s just going to die a few days later?’

‘Well everyone’s allowed to take flowers home and stuff,’ Sandilands shrugged.

Kynaston’s wedding dress cost slightly less than $50,000, while the suits for the bridal party and page boys cost more than $15,000.

The entertainment, which includes renting multiple stages, audio equipment and sound trucks, cost higher than $100,000.

Sandilands also hired several instrumentalists, saying: ‘There’s saxophone guys, there’s string quartets. It’s a big thing.’

Sandilands clarified he had actually saved money on the artist fees, as his pop star friends Guy Sebastian, Conrad Sewell and Samantha Jade had agreed to perform for free.

The wedding stylist’s fee was lower than $250,000, while the food – including an oyster bar and caviar – cost less than $75,000.

Sandilands revealed he’d spent less than $120,000 on security detail, including 15 private guards and members of the NSW and Federal Police force.

The videographer and photographer’s combined cost was lower than $80,000, while the wedding invitations cost less than $15,000.

Sandilands also said his wedding cake, which he described as a ‘five-tier monster’, cost more than $8,000.

A live organ player also set the couple back $3,000.

Kyle and Tegan’s wedding guest list

  • Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and partner Jodie Haydon
  • NSW Premier Chris Minns and wife Anna
  • Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic
  • Guy and Jules Sebastian
  • John Ibrahim and Sarah Budge
  • Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and daughter Kitty
  • Jeff Fenech and wife Suzee
  • Darryn Lyons
  • Beau and Kara Ryan
  • Conrad Sewell and fiancée Jasmine Hingston
  • Samantha Jade and husband Pat Handlin

The guest list included Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine, as well as Kings Cross nightclub identity John Ibrahim and his model girlfriend Sarah Budge. When he wasn’t performing, Sebastian was a guest alongside his stylist wife Jules.

Newly minted NSW Labor Premier Chris Minns and his wife Anna were also invited.

Sandilands and Kynaston went into their wedding facing a ‘very high chance’ of rain and a ‘potential thunderstorm’ in the Harbour City.

Tradesmen were spotted at the Swifts mansion on Friday, setting up a marquee to ward off the showers predicted for the weekend.

The weather wasn’t the only issue facing the big day, as the Federal Opposition slammed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for agreeing to DJ at the wedding.

During a press conference on Friday, Mr Albanese confirmed he would be attending.

Mr Albanese noted he wasn’t in charge of the invite list, which included convicted drug smuggler Simon Main – the best man – and Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim, and went on to describe Sandilands as an Australian success story.

Deputy Opposition leader Sussan Ley took the opportunity to criticise Mr Albanese’s priorities in a statement, saying: ‘There is nothing wrong with going to a friend’s wedding, but it is curious the prime minister thinks he can take a day off just days before his first real Budget.

‘Australians will rightly ask whether the Prime Minister should be spinning decks at a million-dollar wedding when people can’t afford their rent.’

The Labor leader, 60, has a long history of playing gigs in his free time and running the country hasn’t seemed to slow him down.

Wedding guests could expect to hear everything from Springsteen and Spiderbait to Taylor Swift, The Killers and Cold Chisel, reported The Daily Telegraph on Friday.

Meanwhile, Minns’ office distanced the premier from some of Sandilands’ guests, telling The Sydney Morning Herald: ‘When you go to a wedding, do you know every single guest? Or do you know the bride and the groom?’

It comes after Sandilands and Kynaston published a David Jones registry of gifts they would like to receive at their wedding.

Kyle’s wedding washout

The weather forecast for Sydney on Saturday isn’t looking good.

Sandilands and Kynaston may have been hoping for a perfect sunny day for their harbourside nuptials, but they are instead looking at up to 30mm of rainfall.

There is a 100 per cent chance of rain, as well as the chance of a thunderstorm, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The maximum temperature will be 21 degrees and the sky will be cloudy.

The registry stated that while guests weren’t required to bring gifts, there were some items they could choose from if they ‘insist’.

The list featured 38 items worth a total of $14,340, including Waterford crystal glasses and vases, bath mats and a Nespresso machine.

Sandilands and Kynaston have been together since 2019 after going public with their romance on New Year’s Eve that year – when Tegan shared a picture of herself kissing Kyle in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Two months earlier, she had denied rumours she was dating the KIIS FM presenter.

Sandilands began dating his then personal assistant Kynaston following his split from his girlfriend Imogen Anthony.

The couple announced their engagement in January 2022 in a lavish proposal after Sandilands popped the question while on holiday in Port Douglas, Queensland.

The moment was complete with flowers, a red carpet, fireworks and a massive diamond ring.

‘Tegan’s ring is an emerald-cut diamond set on a split shank platinum band,’ Tobias Kormind told Daily Mail Australia at the time.

‘[It would be] worth over $1.14million for a decent quality diamond, at least F colour, VS1 clarity.’

One month later, also Valentine’s Day, Sandilands announced live on air that he was expecting their first child together, a son, before revealing they had chosen the name Otto before his birth.

‘We’re having a baby!’ Sandilands, who was joined by Kynaston, exclaimed on his radio show.

They also surprised Henderson on air by asking her to be their baby’s godmother, which she happily accepted.

Baby Otto was born on August 11, with Henderson announcing his arrival live on air.

Jackie, who is Otto’s godmother, shed tears of joy as she told listeners of The Kyle and Jackie O Show: ‘Otto has been born!’

Kyle later gave a rather graphic update about the birth, telling ‘Intern Peter’ Deppeler live from the hospital car park: ‘Otto’s born, Otto’s fabulous.’
